Your Home Security in Florida is Probably Not Adequate
Everyone in Florida should make home security one of their top priorities. Your loved ones and most of your material possessions reside in your house, so it only makes sense that you make sure it’s adequately protected. Many people try to implement a variety of seemingly unrelated measures in an attempt to create their own form of comprehensive protection, and for the most part that would go a long way towards keeping criminals away. But only an alarm system provided by a reputable and professional company is effective enough to remove all worry from the equation.
To help understand why a home alarm system is the only truly comprehensive measure you can have implemented, you have to see that no combination of the various other measures will suffice. For example, you could try protecting the front of your home with motion-activated lights and brand new door locks, and protecting your backyard with a guard dog. Additionally, you can foster the good habit of always locking your doors when you go somewhere. You might implement so many different measures that you could start feeling like your home is impenetrable. Unfortunately, the actual situation is a lot different. Those lights in the front will only be effective at night, yet contrary to popular belief most criminals strike in the day time when their victims are at work or on vacation. Those locks would be useful if criminals didn’t have a window they could break to gain entry nearby. That guard dog in the back is often asleep on the job and could easily be coaxed by a cunning criminal. Even if the dog couldn’t be coaxed, that criminal could always try to set it loose or just avoid the backyard altogether. As you can see, there would be a lot of holes in that security solution.
Those measures definitely have their minor uses, but only a home alarm system will stop all criminals no matter how resourceful they are. Such a system cannot be bypassed. That system will most definitely have the final say when it comes to burglaries and robberies. Should a criminal ever get past one of its door or window sensors, they wouldn’t be able to get past the array of motion sensors that would be installed around your home. Once the sensors pick up movement, the system will notify your alarm company. Multiple backup systems will be in place too. If your home should lose power, your phone line be disconnected and your primary call center be busy, your home alarm system would still find a way to alert the proper authorities. There’s a reason why banks and businesses in Florida use the same basic kind of system: they work.
It’s probably easy to see now why any combination of the other measures just won’t be adequate. Ultimately, a home alarm system is what you need on your side. Short of creating one yourself, you wouldn’t be able to mimic the kind of protection it provides. And since they’re so affordable, it really makes sense to sign up for one as soon as you can.

Steve Jobs: One Last Thing $21.24 Few men have changed our everyday world of work, leisure, and human communication in the way that Apple founder, Steve Jobs, has done. This documentary looks not only at how his talent, his style and his imagination have shaped all of our lives, but also at the influences that shaped and moulded the man himself. Since his untimely death, tributes from around the world have secured Steve’s place in the pantheon of great Americans. Now, we talk to the people who changed the man, who changed our world. Through interviews with the people who worked closely with him or chronicled his life, we gain unique insight into what made him tick. In a never before broadcast, exclusive interview, Steve Jobs expounds his own philosophy of life, and offers advice to us all on changing our own lives to achieve our ambitions, our desires, and our dreams. “Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact; that everything around you that you call life was made up by people no smarter than you…the minute you understand that, you can poke life; you can change it, you can mould it, embrace it, make you mark upon it. Dirty Jobs Season 5 DVD $49.95 An unflinching look at the unsung American worker, and the unusual but vital vocations that must be done. There’s a lot to learn as host Mike Rowe introduces us to an elite assortment of men and women who make their living doing the most unthinkable jobs. Ep. 1) Animal Relocator: CORN MILLER Mike travels to DeKalb, Mississippi to try his hand at making corn meal by working at an old-fashioned mill house that uses water driven millstones to make the meal from whole kernels of corn. Mike starts out by clearing debris from the water driven turbine that powers the mill and then he opens the gates to allow water to move through the turbine to make the corn meal. Then Mike moves into the millhouse and loads corn kernels into a hopper. The millstones grind the corn into meal and it begins to fill large sacks. As the sacks fill up, Mike pours them into a sifter to remove any larger pieces of corn from the meal. Then he scoops the corn meal into smaller paper bags, putting ten pounds into each bag, and closes each bag of corn meal with a special sewing machine. ANIMAL RELOCATOR Mike travels to Wills Point, Texas, to help with relocating exotic animal species. The species on the schedule for the day’s work is the Pere David’s deer, a Chinese deer that has gone extinct in it’s native land but still exists in captivity across the United States and Europe. Mike helps out by catching one male and one female deer, which will be moved to a larger site than the one they are currently located at in an effort to start a new herd. Once Mike learns how to operate the tranquilizer projector to subdue the Pere David’s, he heads out onto the ranch to find the animals. The male is subdued first. Mike helps load it into a trailer and then he works with a veterinarian to administer medicines before its transport. Then Mike helps catch the female Pere David’s, placing it into another trailer. Mike ends the day helping to relocate the pair in an effort to help provide a population that can one day be reintroduced to its native habitat in China. Ep. 2) Exotic Nanny: Mike heads to Pilot Point, Texas, to work at a ranch that harbors and breeds exotic animal species. He starts out the day by helping with ring-tailed lemurs. Donning a protective helmet and thick leather gloves, Mike helps clean out the lemur pen. The protective gear is worn for a very good reason — lemurs are very territorial and will quickly attack anything or anyone who invades their space – as Mike quickly discovers. He moves on to work with a porcupine, moving it into a small cage to help determine its gender. Next, he assists with some of the baby animals at the ranch. He feeds milk to a baby camel and then takes the camel around the ranch for a little exercise. Then Mike helps feed baby kangaroos and also helps potty train them. Next, he removes a couple of baby joeys from their mother’s pouches and then moves on to a baby three-toed sloth. Finally, he clips the claws of a binturong, also calle |
